The Finance Business Partner serves as the link between the financial/non-financial figures, operational activities, and trends that may impact the organisation.

Client Details

The client is a global logistics distribution and supply chain company, based in the area of Tilburg, that offers a variety of freight services, alongside warehousing and distribution. They design end-to-end solutions, handle customs clearance, and provide specialised services for various industries.

Description

Your purpose as a Finance Business Partner a.i. is to optimise and contribute to the realisation of the planning & control/budget cycle, manage financial operations, and provide advice to the BU management team and cluster management team.

Performance Management

  • Ensure that performance management and KPIs for financial and non-financial aspects are implemented and actively used in the assigned BU.
  • Initiate actions needed to maximise profitability and efficiency.
  • In collaboration with the BU management team, drive the E2E agenda and set indicators/KPIs to generate proper insights and take early action.
  • Objectively challenge the performance and decisions made by the assigned BU.
  • Proactively work with the data analysis and digital reporting team to provide input for data solutions/data-sets, as well as predictive analyses to improve performance.

Quality of Advice

  • Conformity to corporate principles (realism and internal consistency).
  • Adequacy of information.
  • Accuracy of analyses.
  • Timeliness, clarity, and correctness of reports.
  • Timely identification of deviations and risks.
  • Insight into adjustments of the financial position.
  • Accuracy of recommendations for business operations adjustment.

Financial Planning and Budget

  • Support financial planning and the budget process at BU/cluster/region level by providing input on KPIs, etc.
  • Actively support the BU and Cluster management team during the financial and budget process and actively challenge assumptions.

Investment Assessment

  • The Finance Business Partner must be critical of assumptions and/or decision bases and, where necessary, question them to ensure that all major business cases undergo a feasibility check of financial objectives.
  • Follow up on investment requests and advise on any additional steps needed to mitigate risks or maximise returns.

Contribution to the Finance Community

  • Actively participate in the Finance community to learn and share best practices as needed.
  • Stay informed about the company's standard reporting tools.

Profile

  • Experience within the relevant field of Business Control
  • Experience within large-scale global companies and matrix organisations
  • Experience within Logistics and Supply Chain is a strong benefit
  • Experience and knowledge of SAP
  • Experience and knowledge of Power BI
  • Fluency in Dutch and English
