APM Terminals (APMT), a maritime terminal operator and core business unit of Maersk, operates one of the world's most comprehensive port networks, which is uniquely positioned to help both shipping line- and landside customers grow their business and achieve better supply chain efficiency, flexibility and dependability to compete and win in world markets. The APMT team of +23,000 industry professionals across 42 countries and spanning five continents, is focused on providing customers with the most advanced terminal technology, equipment and operations in the industry across a network of +65 ports.

APM Terminals is, like Maersk, undergoing an all-encompassing transformation from a multi-local, loosely coupled portfolio of individual terminals towards an integrated, best-in-class global terminal operator and stevedore. We casually refer to the journey as 'from freestyle to franchise'. The transformation involves developing and rolling out APMT's Lean, built around a common operating system founded on Lean principles. It also entails a fundamental overhaul of our (digital) enterprise architecture to enable data-fuelled business decisions, and cross-pollination of standard processes across our operations, including Automation. Finally, the transformation aims to embed a culture of joint problem solving, (local) entrepreneurship and a collaborative mindset across our organisation, including strong(er) linkages between our HQ- and frontline teams.

Strategy Transformation Office

The Communications Specialist is part of the Strategy Transformation Office, reporting into the Strategy Communications Leader. The role is responsible for driving clearly defined communication activities supporting Strategy and Transformation. You will be working closely with the Strategy and Transformation team to co-create content to support communications aimed at the further embedding of Lean practices, delivering an across APM Terminals. Additionally you will be involved with supporting the Transformation Leaders in supporting communications related to our global transformation programmes.

This position requires a mix of change management, communications and Lean expertise, as well as business acumen, and strong soft skills and the ability to frame up, execute, and drive resolution to complex issues. This is a dynamic, fast paced role that can simultaneously see the bigger picture along with the small pieces that are critical to success.

You are responsible for supporting communications activities of strategic transformation programmes. This will involve executing communications and engagement plans and developing content and assets accordingly. You will create communications materials such as leader dialogue guides, presentations, graphics, videos, etc for specific capabilities/releases – in line with the standard Maersk communications guidelines. In addition to supporting the program and Terminal Lean teams to develop their communications plans in managing stakeholder engagements.

Responsibilities

Coordinating activities including creation of content assets, planning global webcasts and townhalls, maintaining and updating intranet/SharePoint sites, and managing communication agency relationships. Developing content for employee communication channels including intranet articles, newsletters, infographics, digital signage, and videos. Supporting executive engagements and senior stakeholder communications with engaging presentation materials and talking points. Support execution of overall change communications plan in line with the Maersk Communications and Brand guidelines Providing direct change communications support to the Transformation programme team. Track, report completion of change communications deliverables, signal and anticipate on risk and roadblocks to the Transformation Leads. Managing communications to the Management Team and Terminal Managing Directors. Major company organisational announcements. In addition to the above, other duties may be assigned outside of the scope of this description

Required Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or Business. 5-7 years of relevant experience including at least 3 years in a change management and/or internal communications role. Near native English speaker

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Knowledge of and experience in communications, Lean methodologies, and tools. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate complex information in a succinct, organised manner. Strong presentation, project management and organisation skills. Proven ability to be independent contributor with experience in managing communications processes across a matrixed organisation Structured, detail-oriented, organized and stress resilient personality able to quickly understand the issues and find countermeasures Cross-cultural and interpersonal skills to navigate a global context. Excellent people skills, the ability to work in a group or independently and negotiation skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and changing demands while being responsive to end user needs.
