Job Description
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you are responsible for the development and application of mechanical designs to meet specifications.
- Based upon specification create concepts, designs, drawings including realization and qualification of your design.
- Uses state of the art design methods and construction principles to ensure adequate designs that can be realized from a technical and supply chain perspective.
- Drive the quality of the design by well-balanced concept and design decisions and defining tests including test equipment.
- Ensures that prototypes are built, and tests are carried out.
- Delivers the technical product documentation that is needed to release the design for volume production.
Education
Master's degree in mechanical engineering, preferably with a specialization in Precision-, Micro-, Nano- engineering.
Experience
- 1-3 years of relevant working experience.
- Knowledge of machine directives.
- Knowledge in the field manufacturability of mechanical parts and of designing on stiffness.
- Knowledge of construction principles and geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
- Experience with FEM and analytic tools, like NX structure, ANSYS, Matlab, Mathcad.
- 3D CAD modeling (preferable UG/NX).
Personal Skills:
- Strong analytical ability with a pragmatic attitude
- Critical on results
- Creative thinking capability
- Good communication skills
- Fully proficient in the English language.
Context of the position
Within ASML, the sector Development & Engineering (D&E) is responsible for the specification, design and engineering of the ASML products. The cluster Mechanical Development is designing, building and testing mechanical systems and sub-systems which are fitted into the end products. In this cluster, Departments with different competences are responsible for the various modules of the ASML products. Each department consists of discipline and/or function-oriented groups where emphasis lies on particular competences or functions in ASML equipment.
This position is in EUV Precision Motion & Dynamics.
