**Job Summary**:
As a Research Associate at Neogene, your primary responsibility is to conduct laboratory-based assays aiming to identify and select patient-derived neo-antigen specific TCRs. Additionally, you will be involved in characterizing and quality checking TCR-related products intended for clinical use. Your duties will include ensuring the accurate and reliable preparation and execution of assays, documenting the process and data meticulously, and maintaining the laboratory space and equipment relevant to your work. This position is located in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and you will report to an Associate Scientist, Molecular Biology.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Perform laboratory processes to select and characterize patient-derived neo-antigen specific TCRs.
- Conduct quality assays on TCRs, T cells, B cells, TCR-related products, and raw materials.
- Execute aseptic handling and genetic modification of immune cells, and perform phenotypic and functional evaluation of immune cells by flow cytometry.
- Execute techniques such as DNA/RNA isolation, DNA/RNA quality assessment, molecular and cellular biology and cloning techniques, Illumina sequencing, single-cell sequencing, flow cytometry and AutoMACs based cell sorting.
- Work in compliance with standards set out by relevant accredited agencies.
- Collaborate in a cross-functional team to identify, validate, and implement process improvements.
- Document results in electronic and paper-based laboratory journals and document management systems, adhering to standards set by appropriate accredited agencies.
- Write and revise protocols and SOPs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
**Education and Experience**:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, biomedical sciences).
- 1-2 years of full-time laboratory experience
- Knowledge and experience with molecular and/or cellular biology methods, next-gen sequencing, isolation and aseptic handling of primary cells and cell lines.
- Experience in gene modification technologies (e.g. retroviral transductions), immunological assays, cell sorting and flow cytometry is a plus.
**Required Skills/Abilities**:
- Strong analytical skills, diligent and systematic working attitude, independent thinking, and open to challenges.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work effectively in a team.
