Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join our team in Rotterdam. In this role, you will be responsible for managing purchasing activities for essential marine safety supplies and equipment, working closely with suppliers to ensure optimal quality, cost-efficiency, and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to secure reliable, high-quality goods and services.
  • Manage the full order cycle, from identifying needs and placing orders to tracking shipments and ensuring on-time delivery.
  • Negotiate favorable pricing, terms, and delivery conditions with suppliers to maximize cost savings without compromising on quality.
  • Work closely with the inventory team to maintain optimal stock levels, ensuring availability for critical items while avoiding overstocking.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to address any quality issues, coordinating inspections and resolving discrepancies as they arise.
  • Maintain accurate purchase records, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Partner with internal teams, including logistics, sales, and operations, to support seamless service delivery and meet client demands.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of purchasing experience, ideally within the marine or a related industry.
  • Familiarity with procurement processes, inventory management, and supplier relationship management.
  • Ability to assess supplier performance, manage budgets, and make data-driven purchasing decisions.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Meticulous in handling orders, tracking shipments, and managing documents.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and purchasing software; familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Fluency in English is required. Dutch and Turkish is advantageous. EU working permit is compulsory, sponsorship is not applicable for this position.
