About the Team
The System Engineering department at Thales is responsible for the design and management of software and hardware development. The Specialty Engineering team is a key part of this department, focusing on the specification, analysis, and design of generic system aspects.
About Your Future Role
We are seeking a team manager to lead our team of specialists in a motivating and inspiring way. As a seasoned professional, you will work closely with the team while empowering them to take ownership of their work.
The team consists of 30 specialists, divided into four sub-teams with various specialties and dynamics. They are involved in product development, customer-specific configurations, and internal customer support.
As a team manager, you will focus on capacity planning, development and coaching of team members, budget management, and staying updated on expert areas to initiate process improvements and changes.
You will be part of the System Engineering Management Team and report to the Head of Discipline System Engineering.
Requirements
- Clear understanding of how to leverage personality, knowledge, and experience to bring out the best in others and yourself;
- Ability to set direction, provide energy, and connect with the team;
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with stakeholders;
- Analytical and solution-focused mindset;
- Solid engineering background with knowledge of system engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, software engineering, and verification principles;
- High level of creativity, initiative, pragmatism, and persuasiveness;
- Experience in people management, team management, and understanding the challenges a team of specialists faces;
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
