Job Summary

The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons is seeking a highly skilled Senior Communications Assistant to provide critical support to its Situation Centre. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for maintaining global situational awareness and supporting deployed Inspection Teams.

Main Responsibilities

As a Senior Communications Assistant, you will:

  • Provide operational communications support to the Situation Centre and deployed Inspection Teams
  • Develop and implement communications training programs for Inspection Personnel
  • Manage information and documents, including archiving and retrieval

Qualifications and Experience

Education

The successful candidate will hold a High School Diploma or equivalent, with additional training and experience in satellite and radio communication, IT networks, GPS tracking, and encryption systems being desirable.

Knowledge and Experience

The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of professional experience in an operational context, with experience in supporting customers and field teams remotely, working in confidential environments, and using computerized administration systems.

Skills and Competencies

The successful candidate will possess solid computer skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high sense of discretion and maturity.

Languages

Fluency in English is essential, with a good working knowledge of one of the other official languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish) being desirable.
