As a System Owner at Damen Shipyards, you will be responsible for leading the system platform team responsible for the interior design and experience on board of our Workboats product portfolio. This is a key role in our Technology Management department, where you will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop, standardize, and maintain our systems throughout their lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define a clear vision and strategy for technology development, considering business objectives and market opportunities.
- Develop and manage the short-, mid-, and long-term technology development roadmap, aligning with our ship type development agenda.
- Manage the development and standardization of modular and scalable system families, variants, and options to meet the needs of our Damen Workboats portfolio.
- Approve supplier/partner strategies in close cooperation with Damen Category Management and Product groups.
- Lead the multi-disciplinary system platform team, setting clear goals and priorities for development, implementation, and support of systems.
- Initiate and organize collaboration with internal and external key partners, setting responsibilities and building the organization to enable systems platforms throughout their lifecycle.
- Ensure technology development follows systems engineering principles and Verification and Validation models.
- Embed knowledge within the organization, setting up training and instructions.
Requirements:
- Academic level with a bachelor's and/or master's degree in a technical direction, e.g., Industrial Design, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Process Automation, or Electrical Engineering.
- Demonstratable knowledge of the specific technical domain in a relevant industry.
- Ability to translate high-level market and business requirements and opportunities into technology and system development needs.
- Project management qualities, capable of keeping a clear overview and prioritizing effectively.
- Experience with the application of Systems Engineering principles.
- Experience with the development and integration of (marine) installations, including cooperation with third parties.
- Experience with (marine) industry standards and regulations.
- High-quality consciousness and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills in English, Dutch is a plus.
