Fabory is a rapidly growing company that values its employees and provides opportunities for growth and development. As a Senior Customs Compliance Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all business activities comply with national and international laws and regulations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing and managing customs policies and processes based on best practices and frameworks (within the framework of AEO qualifications).
  • Specific implementation of controls regarding non-Pref and Pref origin, management (including controls of COO) as well as management of products affected by trade defense measures (antidump, dual use, antisubsidy, CBAM, Russian Sanctions, denied party screening).
  • CBAM-legislation and reporting.
  • Specific implementation of controls regarding customs classification of commodities traded by Purchasing in accordance with global and regional policies.
  • Supporting import/export operations within Europe and export non-EU countries including cooperation with customs brokers/agents and HO/entities in Benelux.
  • Ensuring that all aspects of Fabory's operations comply with international and local laws and regulations related to compliance.
  • Coordinating activities with customs brokers to ensure efficient and compliant customs clearance processes.
  • Oversight of customs authorities requirements in Europe and customs documentation needed to support Fabory Trading flow of goods, including building internal compliance documentation guidelines, training resources, and providing import/export compliance support to operations teams.
  • Ensuring import trade flows and operations are compliant (pre-entry and post-entry review) and correct customs licenses, approvals are in place for operational changes.
  • Recommending measures to secure the optimum import duty regime within the region through Customs Warehousing and Inward Processing, End-use relief.
  • Organizing, planning, and collaborating on internal audits, risk assessment, and other assurance activities.
  • Liasing with IT team to enhance Compliance aspects within the Fabory IT environment/ERP system and trading platforms.
  • Standardizing and overview of Fabory Trading compliance procedures and controls in locations abroad.
  • Keeping updated with regulatory changes and best practices; identifying risks and opportunities and recommending actions.
  • Assisting Indirect Tax team in the review of third-party compliance profile and customs licenses.
  • Working with the Trade team and Indirect tax to remedy any potential non-compliance or concerns including breaches.
  • Setting up a control framework for customs brokers used by the company to assist operational teams with local customs compliance work.
  • Advising traders and operators on the tax treatment of commodity transactions (Customs and/or Excise compliance).
  • Identifying, capturing, collecting, monitoring key metrics (KPIs) for development of business strategies and presentation to management and relevant optimization projects.
  • Developing and carrying out Compliance training for traders, operators, and local personnel raising awareness on the Compliance function and risks.
  • Serving as the main point of contact for regulatory authorities on compliance issues.
  • Providing support and advice to the organization on compliance-related topics.
  • Proposing and implementing plans for operational improvements and process optimizations.
  • Building and establishing a robust compliance platform to streamline compliance across the organization to foster a culture of compliance.
  • Creating internal awareness about the importance of compliance and its impact on Fabory's competitiveness.

As a Senior Customs Compliance Specialist, you can expect a competitive salary range of $90,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on your experience and qualifications. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
