Marine Engineering Specialist

Damen Naval, a leading naval shipbuilding company, is seeking an experienced Marine Engineering Specialist to join its Proposals department. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in marine engineering design concepts and practices, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects.
As a key member of the tender project team, you will be responsible for defining general system architectures, weight, power, and cost estimations, as well as main ships balances and propulsion system configurations. You will also contribute to requirements analysis, draft marine engineering specifications, and support subcontractor quotation processes and evaluations.
The successful candidate will have excellent writing skills, able to deliver compelling technical documents, contract specifications, and reports. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, as you will work closely with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to deliver commercially viable and attractive propositions.
In this role, you will participate in discussions on technical and commercial aspects of proposed solutions, evaluate designs against requirements, and prepare corresponding reports. You will also support cost evaluations provided by suppliers and internal stakeholders, and collaborate with internal departments to optimize project outcomes.
To excel in this position, you should possess a Bachelor or Master's degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. At least 3+ years of relevant experience in engineering design concepts and practices is required, preferably in complex naval or maritime (tender) projects.
A competitive salary of approximately $120,000 per year, plus benefits, including 8% holiday pay, 27 holidays, and 13 ADV days, makes this an attractive opportunity for candidates who value their professional and personal development.
