About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Associate Accounting Specialist to join our team in Terneuzen, The Netherlands. As an Associate Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for activities related to the distribution of purchased materials, including the control and validation of purchases, sales, inventories, and freight expenses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform data analysis and data validation (completeness, accuracy) and promptly escalate defects or matters.
  • Reconcile accounting balances with source systems and/or with concerned suppliers.
  • Perform specific tasks to secure timely transmission of information to concerned business partners.
  • Assist with the monthly and annual closing (accruals, valuations, reclassifications).
  • Work in compliance with procedures and in coordination with other team members.
  • Assist with the addressing of audits.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English (both written and spoken).
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Accurate, attention to details.
  • Capacity to prioritize tasks to meet strict deadlines.
  • Discipline in applying accounting policies and procedures.
  • Team spirit.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word).

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience with SAP systems.
  • Preferred 2 or 3 years of prior work experience in an accounting department.
  • Experience in Controllers work processes, systems & tools, preferred.
