Mechanical Safety Competence Lead

The Mechanical Safety Competence Lead plays a critical role in driving the development and sustainment of mechanical safety knowledge necessary to ensure the safety and compliance of ASML products with relevant rules and regulations worldwide.
Key Responsibilities- Create, sustain, and execute all mechanical safety competence knowledge, deliverables, inputs, and necessary activities to enable safe and compliant products.
- Ensure the connection of knowledge keepers, key-users, and other stakeholders.
- Develop and sustain mechanical safety generic knowledge documents.
- Develop relevant training contents and provide training to the design community to empower them in their daily design works.
- Represent the competence in different levels in the organization.
- Support product safety and compliance targets of ASML and sustain mechanical safety compliance framework.
- Collaborate with other risk area leads to develop common ways of working.
- Support in-depth safety assessments and design reviews and risk evaluations of mechanical systems and tools when needed.
- Build and maintain a network of local mechanical safety competence engineers that support the projects.
- Serve as the principle knowledge owner in mechanical safety, providing guidance and technical support to various teams.
- Lead the development and maintenance of mechanical safety protocols and standards for ASML.
- Bachelor degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Advanced certifications in mechanical safety are highly desirable.
- Deep knowledge on Machinery Safety, including robotics safety standards and regulations of EU, USA, and Japan.
- Proven experience in mechanical safety, with a strong focus on technical expertise and domain knowledge.
- 8+ years of proven mechanical design experience for complex systems.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing safety standards and documents in a design environment.
- Extensive knowledge of safety regulations and standards relevant to mechanical systems.
- Ability to interpret the standards/regulations and make risk-based judgments.
- Helicopter view, structured, and proactive.
- Highly motivated team player with excellent social, coordination, and communication skills.
- Eager to offer help and cooperate.
- Leadership ability to give direction and interpretation of international standards on mechanical safety domain.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work.
