Job Title: Chief Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description:

We're seeking a highly skilled Chief Mechanical Design Engineer to drive the development of our machine designs. As a senior professional, you'll thrive on translating physics engineering calculations into tangible mechanical solutions, with a keen focus on factors like thermal dynamics, strength, and stiffness.

Responsibilities:

  • Take the lead on sub-projects, collaborating with key stakeholders such as the Carbyon team and external partners.
  • Conduct in-depth physics engineering calculations to underpin your mechanical choices, addressing critical aspects like thermal dynamics, strength, and stiffness.
  • Transform these calculations into (partial) machine designs, showcasing your ability to prioritize and navigate through complex challenges even under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrate hands-on expertise from concept to detailed designs, embodying the go-to person for all things mechanical until the team expands.

Requirements:

  • A strong background in engineering, mechanical/machine design (CAD: UG-NX), physics, and thermal dynamics.
  • At least 5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • A keen eye for detail and the ability to keep a high-level overview of complex aspects.
  • Experience in working with external partners for joint development.
  • A proactive and adaptable mindset, with a passion for innovation and impact.
  • Availability to relocate to Eindhoven or willingness to commute from a nearby location.
