About the Job

The Google Data Center team designs and operates cutting-edge electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and HVAC systems. As a High Performance Data Center Facilities Specialist, you will operate, monitor, and support physical facilities conditions for our data centers.

Our team is dedicated to building and operating powerful data centers that meet the highest standards of efficiency, reliability, and innovation. We are seeking a skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a High Performance Data Center Facilities Specialist.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect, Maintain, and Repair Data Center Systems: Inspect, maintain, and repair various data center systems such as piping and mechanical system components to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Support Startup, Commissioning, and Integration: Assist in the startup, commissioning, and integration of new mechanical equipment and systems into facilities infrastructure to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operation.
  • Manage Uptime and Maintenance: Manage the uptime and maintenance of water pumps and treatment systems, HVAC, and control and monitoring systems to prevent failures and ensure optimal performance.
  • Operate and Monitor Facilities Systems: Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in the data center facilities systems and equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree or Equivalent: Associate's degree, trade school certification, or other certified training in a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Technical Experience: 2 years of Mechanical/HVAC experience in an industrial or commercial environment, with ability to participate in material handling tasks such as lifting, carrying or moving up to 50 lbs (23 kg) of equipment.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate with contractors who perform maintenance or upgrade work on data center systems.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify problems and make repairs quickly to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.
