About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering & Projects team at Damen Shipyards. The ideal candidate is a proactive and innovative individual who can contribute to our company's reputation for quality construction and engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in the execution of the four phases of engineering: design check, basic engineering, detailed engineering, and production support;
  • Prepare technical space layouts, system diagrams, and outfitting arrangements;
  • Prepare technical specifications for systems and equipment;
  • Perform calculations in the Mechanical Engineering field;
  • Work closely together with all stakeholders;
  • Monitor quality and help interface and system integration with other disciplines and co-makers;
  • Support in the Client, Class, and National Authorities approval process;
  • Support the coordination of the outsourcing of work to subcontractors

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field of expertise;
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in the shipbuilding engineering field;
  • Proficient in software packages like AutoCAD, Rhino, and Nupas-Cadmatic;
  • Excellent communication skills in English and preferably Dutch;
  • Demonstrated interest in innovation and openness to new technologies;
  • Proven track record of working effectively in a team and planning and organizing work efficiently;
  • Quality consciousness, practical approach, and results-focused
