Job Summary

Mercury Medical Systems, Inc. is seeking a skilled Purchaser to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for procuring goods and services to support our production operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and establish purchase contracts with suppliers to ensure the lowest overall cost.
  • Evaluate and negotiate vendor price increases to minimize cost impact.
  • Determine production requirements and dock dates by analyzing shortage reports and communicating with production planners.
  • Obtain appropriate signature levels for purchase orders and prepare the orders for entry into the computer system.
  • Work with the Quality Assurance and Engineering departments to verify the accuracy of Non-Conforming Material Reports before returning materials to suppliers.
  • Obtain corrective action reports from suppliers to ensure quality problems are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Support the Engineering and Manufacturing departments on new product requirements to ensure program deadlines are met.
  • Meet with suppliers and manufacturers' representatives to obtain information on pricing, quality, availability, and delivery of parts.
  • Attend scheduled production planning and engineering meetings.
  • Evaluate Engineering Change Notices for cost or delivery impacts and coordinate implementation of changes with suppliers.
  • Provide monthly purchasing reports and train departments in purchasing system and procedures.

Requirements

  • Education and experience equivalent to a related MBO+ or Bachelor's Degree and completion of the Dutch Association for Procurement Management (NEVI) course.
  • A minimum of three years of purchasing experience in a production environment.
  • Knowledge of purchasing methods and procedures.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills in Dutch and English.
  • Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with vendors.
  • Excellent knowledge of business mathematics.
  • Demonstrated computer skills, preferably in spreadsheets, word processing, database, and other applicable software programs.
