For a global FMCG company, we are seeking an experienced interim business developer to lead the evaluation and project management of potential growth opportunities. This role will involve strategic planning, market analysis, partnership development, and leadership in M&A.

This 9-month assignment is based in the Amsterdam area, offering a unique opportunity for career development.

Responsibilities:
  • We are looking for someone with expertise in advising global and regional teams on local M&A and partnership processes.
  • The successful candidate will lead the strategic rationale and opportunity assessment for inorganic growth opportunities, including acquisitions and partnerships.
  • They will identify and assess investment opportunities in emerging companies and start-ups, focusing on North America and Asia.
  • Market research will be conducted to evaluate the merit of potential acquisition or partnership targets.
  • A comprehensive roadmap outlining strategic options (build, buy, partner, or alternative business models) will be developed to capture prioritized growth opportunities.
  • The selected individual will manage and coordinate inorganic projects, acting as the primary project manager to ensure successful execution of strategic initiatives.
  • They will lead the development of the New Business strategic roadmap, identifying new business segments and market expansion opportunities.
  • Evaluation criteria and strategic prioritization process for growth initiatives will be defined and guided by the expert.
  • Synergy potential and overall value of partnerships, acquisitions, and other strategic growth initiatives will be assessed.
Requirements:
  • A strong background in corporate finance, research, and program management is required, with experience in due diligence.
  • Experience in managing sensitive information and teams under NDA's is essential.
  • The ideal candidate should have a proven ability to prepare and deliver presentations to executives and senior management.
  • Advanced skills in Excel for financial analysis and PowerPoint for management presentations are necessary.
  • Experience preparing high-quality reports, including financial models and synergy projections is preferred.
  • Prior experience in management consulting, portfolio development, or financial services is beneficial.
  • Fluency in English is required.
Compensation:

The hourly rate for this freelance position is between €120 and €130 excluding VAT. This is a 9-month assignment, offering a great opportunity for career development.
