Senior Consultant ESG Assurance

Sustainability is a top priority for many companies. From climate change to biodiversity, circularity, equal opportunities for people, and other human rights issues. Companies are expected to measure and report their sustainability performance, driven by the implementation of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). KPMG is committed to playing a key role in increasing the reliability of sustainability information. We are looking for new ambitious colleagues who want to contribute to a better world, in our growing sustainability assurance team.

Your challenges
  • You work with colleagues from various departments and countries on assignments for multiple international clients.
  • You work with clients, colleagues, and ESG specialists in areas such as CO2 emissions, human rights, and biodiversity.
  • You support our clients by ensuring that their sustainability information is accurate.
  • You conduct interviews with companies to understand their processes and investigate whether measures are needed to ensure that the information in the report is correct. With the same goal, you visit clients' sites (possibly in different countries).
  • You act as the connecting link between KPMG and the client and maintain business contact with various stakeholders.
  • You work in teams that use automated web, data, and text analysis tools to verify that the report provides an accurate and complete picture of reality.
This is what you bring
  • A university (WO) master's degree in a relevant field.
  • At least 3 years of work experience, preferably in the field of assurance and/or ESG.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English.
  • Project management and consultancy skills.
  • The ability to coach junior colleagues.
  • Commercial and conceptual thinking.
  • Project and time management skills.
  • Affinity with data analysis and skilled in Excel.
  • The ability to work independently and enjoy the challenge of working on multiple projects at the same time.
  • The ability to work under pressure.
What will you do in this position?
As a senior consultant ESG assurance, you will act as an experienced team member to ensure the reliability of the ESG information reported by a company, so that stakeholders such as consumers, shareholders, employees, NGOs, governments, and many others can rely on reliable ESG information. You are part of KPMG's Sustainability team, which consists of more than 100 ESG specialists who provide both assurance and advisory services.
