Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Officer to join our team at Oceanwide. As a Chief Officer, you will be responsible for navigating our general cargo vessels safely and efficiently, leading the crew on deck, and ensuring smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the navigation and maneuvering of the ship under the supervision of the Master.
- Coordinate deck operations including loading and unloading, maintenance, and safety drills.
- Supervise deck personnel to maintain a high standard of maritime skills and safety.
- Ensure compliance with international and local maritime legislation and regulations.
- Contribute to voyage planning, weather forecast checking, and maintaining ship documentation.
- Serve as a liaison between the Master on duty and the rest of the crew.
Requirements:
- Mandatory certificates according to STCW including a valid license as Chief Officer.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as an officer.
- Excellent navigation and leadership skills.
- In-depth knowledge of maritime regulations and safety procedures.
- Strong command in English, both spoken and written.
- Team player with a proactive and solution-oriented attitude.
- Ability to handle emergencies onboard effectively.
