**About the Role**

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Global Product Management for Bioprocess Hardware and Equipment to join our team at Avantor Sciences. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of global product strategies for our bioprocess equipment and hardware portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy Development: Develop and implement long-term product line strategies, business plans, and product roadmaps in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Market Analysis and VoC: Partner with the Strategy and Engineering teams to build product roadmaps based on thorough market analysis and Voice of Customer (VoC) feedback.
  • Application-Based Solutions: Collaborate with external and internal partners to develop application-based solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Product Launches: Champion successful product launches through requirements, development, and commercialization.
  • Customer and Financial Success: Own the ultimate customer and financial success of new product introductions (NPIs).
  • Market Environment Analysis: Understand and analyze the market environment, including strengths, weaknesses, and product competition.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Analyze, interpret, and report regularly to management regarding sales forecasts, product supply, and competition.
  • Revenue, Margin, and Customer Satisfaction: Responsible for revenue, margin, customer satisfaction, and market share objectives.
  • Internal and External Stakeholder Management: Serve as product champion with internal stakeholders, regional teams, and directly with customers, including key accounts.
  • Training and Sales Process Participation: Maintain close relationships with field organization through training and active participation in the sales process, including customer visits, participating with pricing tactics, and customer support.
  • Business Unit Strategic Planning: Provide input to business unit annual strategic plan development, including STRAP and AOP.
  • New Product Directions: Champion new product directions, working across functions to develop business opportunities for revenue growth (organic and inorganic) and cost reduction, while using the voice of customer research.
  • Strategic Collaborations: Develop and manage strategic collaborations for product partnerships, execute programs, lead cross-functional teams with R&D, operations, commercial groups, and external partners.

Requirements

  • Extensive Product Management Experience: Extensive product management experience managing a diverse product portfolio, including hardware, software, and consumables, with prior experience in product management biopharma/bioprocess technologies strongly preferred.
  • Biologic Applications and GMP Knowledge: Knowledge of biologic applications, bioprocess manufacturing process, and GMP analytical requirements is essential.
  • Automation Systems Architecture: Knowledge of automation systems architecture, sensors, and their interplay to offer digital solutions for process development and optimization.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively present to all levels of an organization internally and externally.
  • Organization and Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional organization and problem-solving skills, with outstanding attention to detail and strong process consistency.
  • Interpersonal and Influencing Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
  • New Product Development Experience: Demonstrated experience in leading new product development programs and launches.
  • Long-Range Roadmap Development: Experience in developing and implementing a Long-Range Roadmap (3-5 years) that includes development/optimization and launching of industrial automation or similar highly technical products that combine hardware and software.
  • Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically to overcome potential business hurdles to complete tasks.
  • Global Organization Experience: Experienced working in a matrixed and global organization.
  • Travel Requirements: The ideal candidate will be available to travel to sites, visit customers, and collaborate with R&D, Commercial, and other functional teams, approximately 20% globally.
