Energy Transition Technologist

We are seeking an Energy Transition Technologist to join our team at Shell's Holland Hydrogen 1 (HH1) project, a groundbreaking large-scale Green Hydrogen electrolysis asset in Europe. As a key member of our operations and maintenance team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance of the process facilities, safety systems, and utilities to ensure production of Hydrogen in accordance with production plans, targets, and specifications.

You will be part of a diverse and international team of operations and maintenance technicians, working together to deliver and operate a safe and highly reliable but flexible asset.

The HH1 organization is small, and all staff members will be required to be flexible in their roles and activities. As such, this position requires adaptability and a willingness to learn and develop new skills. You will have the opportunity to broaden your scope by training in a second skill, which could include maintenance disciplines such as instrumentation, rotating equipment, electrical, or others.

In addition to maintenance responsibilities, you will contribute to the development of work procedures, standard maintenance procedures, training programs, and more. This includes developing and participating in these programs to equip you and the future operations and maintenance team with the right skills and experience to start-up the asset successfully.

About the Role:

• Frontline responsibility for end-to-end O&M processes of the asset, including approximately 50% of maintenance activities executed by own O&M Technician pool.
• Develop and execute cleaning and preservation scope during project phase (construction and commissioning).
• Contribute to the development of work procedures, standard maintenance procedures, training programs, and more.
• Participate in training programs to equip yourself and the future operations and maintenance team with the right skills and experience.

This role is based at the HH1 site at the Tweede Maasvlakte in the Rotterdam Harbour. Initially, the role will start working day-shifts only, in support of the project construction and the commissioning activities, as well as going through an extensive training program. It is expected that from late 2025, we will transition to a full shift rotation, working a 5-shift rotation scheme.
