Assistant Professor in Computer-Aided Drug Design

We are seeking an exceptional Assistant Professor to lead our Computer-Aided Drug Design (CADD) group within the Medicinal Chemistry division at VU Amsterdam. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing methodologies in molecular modeling, data management, and machine learning to advance our understanding of ligand-protein interactions.
Your Responsibilities- Develop and apply a wide range of computational techniques, including protein structure predictions, molecular dynamics, docking, virtual screening, structural chemogenomics, machine learning, and AI.
- Manage and analyze large datasets, with expertise in cheminformatics and bioinformatics.
- Model G-protein coupled receptors and enzymes, and develop novel computational approaches to understand their behavior.
- Design and implement efficient algorithms and software solutions to support research and teaching.
- Publish research findings in top-tier journals and present at international conferences.
- Teach and mentor graduate and undergraduate students, and contribute to the development of our curriculum.
- Lead the CADD group and collaborate with colleagues to advance our research agenda.
