Electro-mobility Patent Expert Role

Imagine being part of a team that supports the inventors shaping our world. As a patent examiner at the European Patent Office (EPO), you will have the opportunity to explore breakthrough developments and contribute to the future of technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform end-to-end examination of patent applications in one of our official languages.
  • Research, find, and use relevant prior art to evaluate the invention's novelty and inventive step.
  • Support the innovation ecosystem by making well-reasoned decisions on patent grants, applying technical knowledge and legal frameworks.
  • Ensure uniform and effective application of the European Patent Convention and other legal texts.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a technical field, such as electrically driven vehicles, power electronics, or related areas.
  • Excellent knowledge of one of our official languages (English, French, or German) and the ability to understand the other two.
  • Work experience in industry is an advantage.
  • Citizenship of one of the European Patent Organisation member states.
