Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Controls Specialist to join our team at OCI Iowa Fertilizer.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the support of field instrumentation, analytical, and monitoring systems. They will provide maintenance (preventive and corrective) and troubleshooting of basic process control (BPC) and safety instrumented systems (SIS).

Key Responsibilities
  • Fabricate, install, and test final control elements, including valves, actuators, and positioners.
  • Perform routine maintenance on medium to large size control and instrumentation hardware.
  • Commission and start-up activities, including instrument loop inspection, configuration, calibration, and testing.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot issues with analytical equipment, including PH, conductivity, density, and ammonia meters.
  • Support and maintain DCS, SIS, and PLC-based systems, including Rockwell, Schneider Electric, and Siemens platforms.
  • Develop and update documentation for plant-specific maintenance tasks, including calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of instrument scope P&I diagrams, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, cable scheduling, and instrument lists sheets.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Instrumentation and Controls or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in IC&E (Instrumentation, Controls & Electrical) with a focus on industrial controls and automation.
  • Advanced understanding and hands-on experience with process analytical equipment, control valves, actuators, positioners, smart transmitters, sensing elements, transducers, and transmitters.
  • Proficiency in HART communication protocols, IEC standards, ISA standards, PSM sites, and process safety management.
  • Ability to use personal computer software for word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and climb straight ladders up to heights over 100 feet.
Compensation

The estimated annual salary for this position is $85,000-$110,000, depending on experience.
