Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Category Specialist to join our team in Rotterdam, Netherlands. As a Category Specialist, you will develop and implement category strategies, support category management, and lead sourcing activities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop three-year category, supplier, and sourcing strategies that meet business goals and objectives.
- Build effective supplier relationships and establish a strong network with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and team members.
- Create sourcing strategies, perform category analysis, monitor market dynamics, and identify total cost of ownership (TCO) and value chain opportunities.
- Lead and support sourcing activities, negotiations, and supplier performance management.
- Execute the contracting process for assigned categories in alignment with Chevron policies and procedures.
- Support the delivery of target savings and other value chain benefits within the assigned categories.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, supplier development, or supply chain.
- Proven success in cost reduction and implementing contracting and category strategies.
- Sharp commercial acumen across strategic, operational, and financial perspectives.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills as a bridge between suppliers, internal and external customers, and potentially competitors.
- Robust analytical skills, highly organized, and results-oriented.
- Willingness to travel domestically and within Europe to ensure successful strategy implementation.
- Business fluency in Dutch and English.
- Bachelor's degree or higher.
