About the Role

ORTEC is seeking a talented and ambitious individual to join our team as a Trainee Software Engineer. As a Trainee Software Engineer, you will have the unique opportunity to experience and explore the many facets of being a Software Engineer at ORTEC.

During a period of two years, you will operate in different teams within the organization, discovering what it's like to build a product used by many customers across the globe and implementing tailored solutions for specific customers. You will have the chance to work in different disciplines of software engineering, learning various skill sets crucial for developing our applications, such as back-end, front-end, and cloud engineering.

You will have the opportunity to work with different development languages like C#, Python, and SQL. If you're not familiar with them yet, internal courses will help you get on track, and you can rely on the expertise of your colleagues and learn from them.

As a Trainee Software Engineer, you will be guided by a performance manager, focusing not only on your hard-skill development as a software engineer but also on the development of your soft-skills as a young professional. After two years, you will have a good understanding of what type of work gives you energy, and you will know many people within the organization, enabling both you and us to find the right place for you to further your career within ORTEC.

Requirements

  • Able to handle high complexity and work in a team
  • Conscientious in staying abreast of new developments
  • Passionate about IT, it's not just your job
  • An ambitious professional who is challenged by working in a new and unfamiliar environment
  • Programming skills such as C#, C++, Java, or similar
  • Experience with modeling is an advantage
  • Curious, flexible, and able to quickly come to the essence of a problem or a situation
  • You are currently living in the Netherlands and are able to fluently communicate in English (verbally and in writing)
