About the Role

The Category Buyer is a key position within Thales Nederland Procurement team, responsible for the procurement of IS/IT Solutions & Support Services (Segment A) and Engineering & Customer Support Services (Segment E).

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-end performance of the acquisition process, ensuring time, quality, supplier agreements, contract management, and more.
  • Supplier selection and relationship management.
  • Strategic supplier performance management, focusing on quality, cost, delivery, contractual performance, and innovation for all business activities.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the supplier market, including innovations and key emerging technologies relevant to the scope.
  • Ensuring collective and individual efficiency, working within cross-functional teams to meet business challenges.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Degree in International Business, Procurement, Supply Chain, or Engineering with professional and intellectual capacities at an academic level.
  • Multiple years of experience in Procurement, preferably in the IS/IT or Engineering Services field.
  • Experience in working in cross-functional international teams.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and deliver business results.
  • An open mind with the ability to listen, share ideas, and bring added value and innovation.
  • Strong contractual skills and experience in complex negotiations.
