Position: Research Assistant I/II in the Division of Cardiology

Department Overview

The Division of Cardiology is dedicated to advancing the understanding and treatment of cardiovascular diseases through innovative research and collaboration with leading centers in regenerative medicine and biomedical instrumentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in research initiatives within the Division of Cardiology, working alongside the Centre for Regenerative Medicine and Health, the Center for Translational Stem Cell Biology, or the Advanced Biomedical Instrumentation Centre.
  • Contribute to ongoing projects focused on gene-editing technologies, biomedical engineering, and the development of novel therapeutic strategies for cardiovascular disorders and inherited conditions.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors to support the research objectives.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Biological Sciences or a related field.
  • Demonstrated motivation and a robust background in stem cell and molecular biology, particularly in gene-editing methodologies.
  • Preferred experience in relevant techniques such as CAS9/CRISPR, patch clamp analysis, ion-optic based calcium analysis, material sciences, or animal surgery.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary based on qualifications and experience. The contract may be temporary or fixed-term, with potential for renewal based on performance and funding. Additional benefits include a contract-end gratuity, a retirement benefits scheme contribution, annual leave, medical benefits, and complimentary access to on-campus facilities.
