As a Precision Metrology Specialist at HE Space, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and precision of our satellite testing operations. This exciting opportunity requires a highly skilled individual with experience in metrology applications.

About the Role

We are seeking a Mechanical Metrology Alignment and Calibration Engineer to join our team in HE Space location. As a key member of our Test Centre, you will be responsible for inspecting, measuring, and aligning parts or units, utilizing high-precision measurement equipment. Your expertise will contribute to the development of measurements and alignment methods and test instrumentation in the field of optical and mechanical metrology.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect and measure parts or units using high-precision measurement equipment
• Develop and implement maintenance and calibration plans for our metrology laboratory
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new measurement and alignment methods
• Maintain and operate accredited laboratory methods according to ISO/IEC 17025

Requirements

To succeed in this challenging role, you must have:

• A Master's degree in Metrology, Optics, or Geodesy
• A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in metrology applications
• Experience working with test instrumentation, coordinate measuring machines, and standard metrology equipment is essential
• Familiarity with autocollimator, roughness tester, roundness tester, photogrammetry systems, linear laser interferometer, extensometers, IR cameras, and data acquisition systems is desirable
