Job Description: Technical Author Integrated Logistics Support

This role requires an experienced Technical Author to create, update, and manage comprehensive technical documentation for our naval ships and systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in preparing user manuals, maintenance manuals, test protocols, and business processes, ensuring clarity and accuracy in describing various aspects such as functions, requirements, layout, components, modes, security, and maintenance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Preparing technical documents in a structured framework, adhering to prescribed formats.
  • Collecting and structuring technical and logistic information from diverse sources, including texts, drawings, diagrams, lists, specifications, manuals, 3D models, P&IDs, colleagues, and reports.
  • Creating system-level technical documentation based on input from the Engineering team.
  • Modifying illustrations to enhance documentation clarity.
  • Inputting information into software systems in compliance with international standards S1000D and S2000M.
  • Delivering Interactive Electronic Technical Publications (IETP).
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor or master degree in engineering, philology, or a related field.
  • Professional experience working with Content Management Systems and structured documents using XML/DITA/S1000D.
  • Knowledge of complex systems and international standards such as S1000D, S2000M, S3000L, and Simplified Technical English (STE).
  • The ability to efficiently differentiate between primary and secondary issues, ensuring concise and precise writing.
  • An enthusiastic team player who takes initiative and actively participates in product development.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent references, as a security screening is part of the hiring process.
  • Possession of permanent EU citizenship and passport are required.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including:

  • A competitive salary of €60,000 - €80,000 per year, depending on experience.
  • 27 holidays and 13 ADV days.
  • Travel allowance of 23 cents per kilometre.
  • PME-pension arrangement with an employer contribution of 60%.
  • Profit sharing based on company results.
  • Flexibility to work from home up to two days a week.
