Innovation Driven Naval Process Strategist

Salary and BenefitsA competitive salary of €85,000 per year, accompanied by 8% holiday pay, is offered to the successful candidate. Additionally, we provide 27 holidays and 13 ADV days, travel allowance of 23 cents per kilometre, PME-pension arrangement with an employer contribution of 60%, profit sharing based on company results, flexibility to work from home up to two days a week, and additional benefits including a bicycle plan and company fitness.
Job DescriptionThis role involves spearheading the technological evolution of processes within the shipbuilding value chain as the Proces Innovation Architect at Damen Naval. You will be responsible for implementing innovation strategies to leverage emerging technologies such as Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Digital Engineering, and Industry 4.0. Collaboration with internal specialists and overseeing projects to integrate innovative solutions into process development while mitigating risks are also key aspects of this role.
Main Responsibilities- Developing a comprehensive innovation strategy to harness emerging technologies, including key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure impact.
- Driving the implementation of the innovation strategy by creating roadmap(s) with clear goals/timelines for innovation initiatives, managing budgets, resources, and adherence to timelines for each project.
- Providing direct technical expertise and insights as a first-line technical contributor to the process development team.
- Developing integration plans for seamless incorporation of innovative technologies into existing systems and practices.
- Championing the adoption of new technologies in the design process and practices by guiding engineering teams.
- Leading and overseeing research and development projects (prototyping, pilots, MVPs) to validate innovative solutions.
- Fostering a culture of innovation by organizing workshops, brainstorms, and knowledge-sharing events.
To succeed in this position, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience leading and/or contributing to research, development, and innovation projects, preferably in the naval or maritime engineering domain.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant specialization.
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Good references, as a security screening is part of the hiring process.
- Possession of permanent EU citizenship and passport.
