About the Role

Solidaridad is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to join its Continental Supervisory Board as a Board Member. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping the organization's strategy and direction, ensuring that Solidaridad's mission and values are upheld.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic guidance and oversight to the organization's management and development.
  • Evaluate the policies pursued by the Managing Director and ensure alignment with Solidaridad's mission and values.
  • Conduct an annual appraisal of the Managing Director and provide feedback for improvement.
  • Approve important decisions, such as strategic partnerships, entering into agreements, and substantial expenses.
  • Put forward nominations for the post of Managing Director when there is a vacancy.
Requirements
  • Strong academic profile and analytical brain.
  • Passion for the themes that Solidaridad works on.
  • Willingness to take formal responsibility.
  • Experience in board roles.
  • Ability to understand the complexities of a supervisory role and the context in which Solidaridad operates.
  • Sufficient time availability to fulfill the role (4 annual meetings, of which at least 1 face-to-face meeting in Utrecht with prior preparation).
  • Commitment to a 4-year term.
What We Offer

As a member of the Continental Supervisory Board, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of Solidaridad's strategy and direction. You will also be part of a diverse and inclusive team that is passionate about creating a more sustainable and equitable world.

Members of the CSB receive no remuneration for their work, but any expenses will be reimbursed. Such payments will be made transparent and further explained in the annual accounts.
