We are looking for an enthusiastic, versatile, but above all very experienced all-round database administrator, with expert level knowledge of Db2 on Linux, supplemented with knowledge of Oracle and MS SQL.

The team

You will work in the chapter/squad DBMS. This chapter/squad consists of 7 members, and is divided over 2 locations, namely Amsterdam and Leeuwarden. The chapter/squad is responsible for the 24x7 execution of technical and operational management of Db2 on Linux, and database support of Db2, Oracle, and MS SQL within ING Netherlands. The chapter/squad is also responsible for the sync of some databases using IBM InfoSphere Data Replication (CDC).

Role & Responsibilities

As an all-round database administrator, you contribute to the management of the Db2 Linux environments, and Db2, Oracle and MS SQL databases. Your duties include:

Operational management of the Db2 and MS SQL environments Patching and upgrading of the Db2 and MS SQL environments Operational management of Db2, Oracle and MS SQL databases Support in troubleshooting problems with Db2, Oracle and MS SQL databases Support of database syncs with IBM InfoSphere Data Replication (CDC)


How to succeed

You are a skilled and very experienced all-round database administrator. Your main expertise is Db2 on Linux, but you also have experience with Oracle and MS SQL. You are substantively strong, and you are focused on achieving the best and concrete results in your work. Better than anyone you understand the wishes and needs of your (internal) IT Customers. Also, you are a real team player. The complex and versatile 7 x 24 operational working environment requires you to be able to switch quickly. You are able to quickly recognize where to act. You are also able to coach colleagues and give constructive feedback.

Must haves:

At least Bachelor/Master level of education At least 10 years of relevant work experience in a complex IT environment Knowledge of, and experience with Agile/Scrum DevOps skills Expert in managing Db2 Linux environments and databases Extensive knowledge of, and experience with Db2 HADR environments Extensive knowledge of, and experience with LCM on Db2 environments Knowledge of, and experience with managing Oracle and MS SQL environments Knowledge of, and experience with managing Oracle and MS SQL databases Knowledge of, and experience with Monitoring database environments Knowledge of, and experience with Backup and recovery strategies Knowledge of, and experience with IBM InfoSphere Data Replication (CDC) Knowledge of, and experience with continuous delivery tools like GIT and Azure pipeline Knowledge of, and experience with automation using PowerShell and/or korn/bash shell Knowledge of, and experience with performance tuning and performance tools
