What will your essential responsibilities include?
·Investigate, negotiate, and settle Casualty (PD) and Financial Lines claims;
oDetermining what information about the claim is needed, how this information needs to be obtained and which facts need to be further investigated.
oInitiating and coordinating the investigation to achieve the best factual basis for the decisions about coverage, liability, and indemnity.
oAnalyzing, negotiating, and in some events defending claims in court.
oKeeping contacts with all parties, such as clients, brokers and claimants, adjusters and lawyers, underwriters, and other AXA XL colleagues in the Netherlands and abroad.
oKeeping an accurate written record of relevant activities relating to the claim and ensuring that claims procedural and documentation standards are maintained.
oBe a crucial part of the relationships AXA XL the Netherlands has with clients and brokers and actively contribute to expanding our portfolio’s.
·Interact and cooperate actively with our international claims network as well as other core business functions;
You will report to the Benelux Claims Manager in Amsterdam.
SHARE your talent
We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
·A bachelor/master’s degree in law or other relevant bachelor/master’s degree;
·Preferably with additional education or training ( post master);
·A minimum of 5 years of claims experience, with recognized knowledge and abilities;
·Industry knowledge and a firm reputation in the market;
·Well-developed negotiation skills and good communication & interpersonal skills: look beyond the obvious, search for underlying interests, listening skills, must be able to be creative in finding solutions that are in the best interests of all involved parties;
·Eagerness to learn, develop and grow within a highly professional claims team;
·Fluent in Dutch and English.
·Enthusiasm and humour
So, what does a regular Tuesday at the claims department look like?
You would start at our beautiful Amsterdam based office with a cup of coffee or tea while saying goodmorning to one of your claims colleagues. After having read your new emails and having checked for new claims that may have been assigned to you, you will attend the weekly claims meeting. During this meeting the team talks about all relevant claims issues. After that, it is probably time for a sandwich or salade at our large lunch table together with colleagues from other departments. You spend your afternoon e-mailing or calling brokers and clients, join an online webinar, attend a meeting with an expert or lawyer or prepare a powerpoint for a (future) client. You might even play a game of table tennis at our loft, or take a walk in the Amsterdam forest… At the end of the day, you feel satisfied because you settled that claim. See you tomorrow
