Welcome to Windesheim

A university of applied sciences where everyone can feel appreciated and at home. Equal opportunities are our focus, and our strength lies in cooperation. We contribute to relevant research aimed at an inclusive and sustainable society. And we help new professionals to get started in their careers. We do this by developing individual learning pathways for students and by constantly fine-tuning our educational opportunities to what is needed. This is how we build the future together.

On our campus in Zwolle, you can do more than just work. We are an energetic community, with many people, activities, and a great deal of facilities. An extensive campus shop, restaurants, cafes and if you want to do sports, you can do so in our gym or swimming pool. The campus is located just outside Zwolle's bustling downtown area, close to the river IJssel and within walking distance of the railway station.

The International Office at Windesheim is a small team (8 people) that collectively works on all administrative and advising processes regarding Internationalisation and international mobility in an open and constructive atmosphere on a central institutional level. The majority of colleagues are part-time, with designated days spent on campus and a maximum of one day working remotely from home. Although processes and deadlines often ask for rather precise and dedicated individual effort from each team member, the team always operates from a team effort perspective, getting the job done together.

Most processes are assigned to specific pairs in the team in order to ensure continuity. The pairs divide the respective tasks among each other to create the best result for all involved stakeholders like students, faculties, and partner universities.

Your contribution

Every person has their own unique background. And we believe that where differences come together, results can flourish. So, we feel it is only natural that you will get a lot of energy from working together. Also, for the vacancy of International Officer, we would like you to be able to think in solutions (not problems). Moreover, you like to be challenged in your everyday work. In addition, you possess:

An undergraduate degree/bachelor’s degree (e.g. in international relations, project management, or IT) Experience in working cross culturally and internationally (preferably in Higher Education) Proven skills in working with automated systems (Mobility Online, MoveOn, etc.) (Near) native Dutch speaker English Proficiency Level C1 or higher (both verbal and written) You are a service-oriented team player who can communicate cross culturally with various stakeholders

Whereas general information on mobility and internationalisation and systems are set in English, Dutch is most commonly spoken on institutional level and within the International Office. Communication towards international students and partners logically is in English. Hence, proficiency in both Dutch and English is a necessity.

Moreover, it is important that you are able to provide a Certificate of Good Conduct ('VOG') upon commencing your employment.
