Role overview:
The Head of Pet Health Benelux is accountable for providing leadership and delivering business results of Elanco’s Pet Health Business in Belgium and the Netherlands.
Value for the Customer – build and maintain a comprehensive, sustainable and profitable portfolio of products and value added services for customers in partnership with Benelux and BeNeNo leadership,Value for People – build, develop and retain a customer focused team by providing leadership, direction and coaching. Secure effective and accurate communications between supporting functions and lead cross functional projects, tasks and challenges,Value for Elanco – lead and influence the business to deliver growth.Position responsibilities:
Affiliate strategy and planning:
Input to affiliate strategy, profit and brand plans. Member of BNL & BeNeNo Lead team.Adaptation of international PH strategy into Benelux PH strategy.Customer Focused Sales Execution and Delivery of Benelux Pet Health Results:
Works with marketing to develop locally appropriate strategy and brand plans into sales execution in order to achieve business goals,Cultivate long-term relationships with customers ( veterinarians, vet corporates, online & retail, wholesalers) and key influencers to promote the Elanco brand and business goals,Identify opportunities and implement plans to grow Elanco market share (plan, execute and achieve market share growth),Drive market intelligence initiatives (monitor industry trends, competitor products and activities, customer, field and competitive intelligence),Delivery to the pricing targets; gross to net targets and portfolio mix targets,Monitor and track business results, adapt approach and strategies as appropriate. Feedback into marketing and other functions for input and support.Benelux Pet Health Sales Force Capability Development:
Portfolio selling to Solution selling based on portfolio marketing,Salesforce optimization based on brand plan targets,Manage sales force effectiveness,Responsible for sales excellence through SAM and CSS programs,Continuously improve knowledge of animal health industry as relates to species responsibilities (diseases, life cycles and solutions, etc.).Manage the Benelux Pet Health Sales and Marketing organization:
Recruiting, hiring, training, coaching, evaluating performance, and defining and assigning responsibilities,Lead and develop sales managers and teams (in different Benelux customer segments Veterinary, Retail and Pharmacy OTC) creating an engaging environment by building a strong customer focused culture with a growth mindset,Ensure expectations are met for direct customer contact within the team (customer days) and spend time personally in customer contact per quarter,Ensure compliance (Elanco Code of Conduct, Elanco good promotional practices, health and safety, etc.) and completion of administrative tasks (expenses, reporting etc.) as appropriate.Required skills:
Degree level either life science or business qualification. Preference for Agricultural, Life Science, Veterinary Science. MBA desirable,10+ years Sales and/or Marketing experience in Pet Heath, Pet Food (Retail) or in Pharma,Track record in product launches,Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior Management role,Experience in managing sales personnel as well as experience in building effective teams is essential with a demonstrated ability to coach and develop talent,Commercial experience in Netherlands and Belgium,Positive attitude and fits well with Elanco Values and Behavior Pillars,Inquisitive. Self-starting. Results oriented,Conceptual and strategic thinking skills,Able to deal with ambiguity in order to provide directional recommendations and outcomes,Demonstrated experience in working effectively with teams and various functional areas such as research, development, marketing services, finance, customer service, and business development,Strong attention to detail, commitment to excellence, and drive to achieve positive results,Strong business, analytical and presentation skills,Ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks,Excellent planning and leadership skills,Knowledge of languages: Dutch, French and English,Mastery of and compliance with project approval requirements, policies and procedures.Preferred skills experience and education:
Knowledgeable of sales and/or marketing capabilities and competencies with a Experience managing a P&L statement or a business unit is a plus.Location & Expected Travel Percentage:
Benelux,Travel up to 25-30% is required regularly within Benelux and occasionally in EU/globally,Flexibility to participate in evening and/or weekend business events.-
