About the Internship

As our new Analytical Sciences Intern, you will be part of the Analytical Chemistry Team in the Life Sciences & Digital Health department of Danone Nutricia Research. This team focuses on support of the research programs by developing and executing quantitative analysis in a wide range of sample matrix for the future Danone portfolio. The target of this internship project is to develop a method using Spectrophotometric enzyme assay. This will be compared with the current LC method (HPAEC-PAD). This method needs to be capable to quantity larger series of samples in a short time to upstream efficiency. Finally, the method will be applied to analyze these compounds in different matrices such as ferments, milk and feces. You will start with a literature review and use the outcome of this to design your own experimental setup including the work method.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Literature research in the field of analytical chemistry Designing your own experimental setup Executing your setup in our state-of-the-art laboratory Sharing your findings and recommendations

Throughout the internship you will also develop your skills by:

Working under ISO9001:2015 Interacting and communicating with different stakeholders within Danone Nutricia Research Interpretating findings and effectively communicating them Working in a multicultural diverse environment

OVER JOU

You are enrolled in the University of Applied Sciences (Hogeschool Utrecht) in Chemistry, with practical laboratory experience and a strong interest in the interaction between food and analytics. You are hands on and able to work autonomously in a complex and fast-paced work environment, act proactively, and effectively communicate with different stakeholders (both technical and non-technical). You have strong analytical skills, creative thinking, and a ‘can do’ mindset.

Additionally, You Must Meet The Following Requirements:

• Enrolled as a student during the whole internship period (if you are a non-EU citizen, you need to be enrolled at a Dutch university);

• You are available to start from June 2024 for a minimum of 6 months, 4-5 days per week;

• You are fluent in English - spoken and written;

• You are able to work from Utrecht.

• Please note that you are required to relocate to the Netherlands (if abroad) for this internship and get a BSN.
