Within the Mars Food & Nutrition Segment; the RD function requires a Thermal Process Technologist that plays a key role enabling the RD strategy. This role is embedded into the Global Science and Technology team and will work in collaboration with Product and Process development teams and will be responsible for creation and validation of new Thermal Processes and support evaluation of new to Mars preservation technologies. This role owns the central thermal validation program and works closely with Q&FS to support any external/ Internal audits toward thermal processes.

This role takes care of the technical and regulatory thermal processing requirements, driving compliance on relevant standards towards production of consumable samples out of the Global RD pilot plant.

• 2-3 years of experience in a FMCG’s related manufacturing or R&D field.
• Experience includes knowledge of sterilization/preservation processes.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills [English]. [Dutch] desired.
• Understanding of statistical analysis, numerical modelling, and data analysis
• knowledge of quality systems and lean manufacturing principles preferred.

• Secures Pilot Plant facility thermal process compliance as per the applicable corporate and regulatory standards. functioning as authority to advise Q&FS/Product and process development with regards to deviations and hold/releases relater to thermal processing on prototypes.
• Validates Thermal Process and conditions, issues thermal process letters (TPLS) for new Items.
• Provides thermal processing training (theoretical, assets and software) on site as required - owns SOP's.
• Partner with Product Development to ensure a seamless implementation transition from new product concept to production, including risk assessing and aligning with the thermal processing community (Q&FS)
