In this dynamic environment you, as Senior R&D principal engineer, will use your innovative and out of the box thinking to adapt and improve existing processes and develop novel technologies for the polymer coating of fertilizers. You will be directly involved in virtually all the stages of the development, from the manufacturing of prototypes in the lab to the scale up and design of the full commercial scale process, including in-house trials but also with third parties. As Senior R&D principal engineer you will be leading research initiatives and propose new approaches. And with your strong engineering and project management skills you will lead ambitious projects. Tasks & ResponsibilitiesLead and manage a number of projects in the area of novel coatings for fertilizers.Define goals, set priorities, and drive the project forward within budget and time.Plan needed experiments in the lab and scale up to pilot and full-scale trials and lead the team executing them.Lead the engineering activities for construction and start-up of different facilities in R&D.Be main R&D stakeholder in engineering of the production lines (modifications and building of new) from the conceptual design of new process to support all engineering stages to construction and start-up. Coordinate from R&D the collaboration of the different disciplines and departments on the R&D and engineering projects. Direct communication with higher management. Influence on steer decisions (e.g. CAPEX). MEng degree in Chemical Engineering10+ years’ experience in equivalent industrial environment5 years’ experience in management and execution of engineering projectsAffinity for innovation and R&DExcellent project management skillsProficient in reporting to different stakeholdersExcellent communication skills in English (Dutch is highly appreciated)Reports to Senior Manager R&D CRF Engineering
