What you’ll doThe Reporting Specialist (IFRS) plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). The position requires a deep understanding of IFRS principles, financial analysis, and reporting requirements. The Reporting Specialist collaborates with various stakeholders to collect, analyse, and interpret financial data, and prepares financial statements and reports that adhere to IFRS guidelines. Key responsibilities will include:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements in line with IFRS guidelines, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
- IFRS Compliance: Stay updated on IFRS standards and ensure all financial reports comply with current principles and requirements.
- Consolidation and Reporting: Consolidate financial data from various units, ensuring consistency and adherence to IFRS.
- Disclosure Notes: Prepare and review disclosure notes for financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS.
- Technical Accounting Research: Research complex accounting issues and provide guidance on IFRS application and new standards.
- Month/Quarter/Year-End Closing: Maintain internal controls for IFRS adjustments during financial closing periods to ensure data accuracy.
- External Audit Support: Collaborate with external auditors, providing documentation and responses during audits.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting and address accounting inquiries.
- Process Improvement: Continuously improve financial reporting processes, identifying opportunities for automation and best practices.
- Master’s (bachelor's) degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. Professional certifications such as ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in reporting or external audit. Work experience in a Big4 or in a Consulting company is a big plus.
- Extensive knowledge of IFRS principles, reporting requirements, and disclosure guidelines.
- Proven experience in financial reporting and analysis, with a focus on IFRS reporting.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with financial consolidation processes and experience in preparing consolidated financial statements.
- Knowledge of ERP systems, preferably NetSuite is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications (Google Docs).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex accounting concepts clearly.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
