An esteemed client in the paints and coatings industry is seeking a dedicated and innovative R&D Specialist to play a pivotal role in pioneering experiments within a well-equipped laboratory setting. This position is crucial for advancing their commitment to sustainable and innovative solutions. With a global presence in over 150 countries and a commitment to becoming the industry leader, the client boasts a world-class portfolio of brands. The successful candidate will be part of the Technology group, particularly within the Expertise Center Waterborne (ECW), focusing on the development of groundbreaking waterborne paint concepts for the global market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assume technical planning, execution, and reporting of experimental results and conclusions under the guidance of a Project Leader, contributing to the client's development of new and environmentally friendly waterborne paint concepts.
  • Independently manage projects or work based on outlined briefs, demonstrating flexibility and organizational skills within the client's dynamic setting.
  • Engage in formulation and technical tasks in the lab, aligning with the client's departmental research objectives.
  • Design and conduct experiments, formulate hypotheses, and critically analyze deviations and unexpected outcomes for the client's projects.
  • Document laboratory findings and communicate results effectively with the Project Leader and team members on behalf of the client.
  • Embrace continuous learning and personal growth within the client's dynamic and multicultural work environment.

Candidate Profile:

  • A Bachelorâs degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in waterborne paints/coatings formulation and testing methodologies, ideally with a focus on non-standard problems and new topics, is desirable.
  • A keen eye for detail and a critical approach to experimental design and results analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • A passion for new technologies and research, with keen observational skills for changes and developments during experiments.
