Our heavy lift vessels (semi-submersible dock ships and wide deck carriers) transport cargo that simply doesn't fit on a regular cargo vessel. Think monopiles and blades for offshore wind turbines, refinery modules, and naval equipment. To ensure we operate safely and stay compliant worldwide, we rely on expertise in maritime operations, engineering, and vessel maintenance management. And that's where you come in. As a Vessel Superintendent at Roll Group, you make it happen. You'll be part of a company that plays a vital role in driving the global transition of energy and industry, one heavy lift at a time.
Your role
The Vessel Superintendent plays a key role within our Fleet Department, ensuring that our vessels are always ready for operations. The Fleet Department's mission is to execute maintenance, repairs, and modifications in a safe, sustainable, and efficient way, keeping our fleet operational and reliable for global heavy transport projects. As a Vessel Superintendent, you take ownership of this mission for your assigned vessels. You stay ahead of the curve, keeping up with the latest advancements in sustainable technologies, industry regulations, and offshore requirements to ensure we meet the highest standards. Besides this, you:
- Keep yourself informed of the latest changes in legislation of the flag state, classification society, IMO and offshore industry;
- Have a sound knowledge of Marine QHSE legislation and Oil & Gas industry and are able to transfer that knowledge to the vessels crew;
- Prepare and control an annual maintenance schedule of the assigned vessels;
- Prepare and control an annual Maintenance & Repair budget, including long term investment budgets;
- Initiate, prepare, execute and evaluate maintenance/repair & modification projects as a Project Manager;
- Prepare vessel inspection reports based on regular vessel visits;
- Collaborate with operations and commercial in way of project preparation and execution;
- Participate and carry out appraisals of, respectively, Master and Chief Engineer.
Your qualifications
- BSc / MSc degree in Maritime Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or Maritime Officer.
- Thorough knowledge of Class and Flag rules and regulations.
- At least 5 year's relevant experience, preferably within a maritime company.
- Fluent in Dutch and English (both verbally and in writing).
- Available for frequent travel around the world if required (2 / 3 months a year).
