With continued growth, CLEAR is looking for an Associate to strengthen the Business Development Team and play a key role in expanding the client base.

WHAT WE DO: CONTEMPORARY, SUSTAINABILITY-DRIVEN CORPORATE FINANCE

CLEAR is a group of senior experts in the field of finance, technology and energy, together leveraging our knowledge, experience and network to guide climate tech scale-ups and renewable projects through the complexities of fund raising. With currently over twenty-five active mandates in portfolio, ranging from deep tech to green hydrogen, CLEAR empowers clients with tailored strategies and meaningful connections to find the right investor.

THE ROLE: BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE

As part of the Business Development Team, this role focuses on sourcing, engaging, and building relationships with potential clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pipeline Management: Track potential client interactions and manage opportunities within the CRM system.
  • New Business Validation: Support and prepare analyses of potential client value propositions, service needs and portfolio fit. 
  • Lead Generation & Deal Origination: Proactively scout promising scale-ups and renewable projects that align with CLEAR's focus areas.
  • Market Intelligence & Research: Stay ahead of industry trends and produce weekly insights.
  • Event & Network Mapping: Identify and track relevant conferences, partnerships and stakeholder summits.  
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates to the Director of Business Development.

CANDIDATE PROFILE: 

An ambitious professional with strong commercial instincts, and a passion for finance, sustainability, and high-growth industries.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: 2+ years in business development and/or sales, or a related commercial field. 
  • Character: Are you a hunter or a farmer? Guess which one we're looking for
  • Education: No specific requirements in terms of degrees, as long as you have the ambition to execute your skills, such as:
  • Perseverance above all - this role requires resilience and a proactive mindset.
  • Strong sales acumen and ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Persuasive communication skills, with the ability to engage potential leads and stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills (additional languages are a plus).
  • Highly organized, with experience in managing leads and sales pipelines using CRM tools.
  • Data-driven approach, with the ability to leverage AI tools for lead generation and outreach.
  • Interest and affinity with finance, funding, tech and the energy transition is a pre, not a must.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and responsibilities with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
