Practice Area

BCG Platinion launched in Germany in 2000 to add deep technical expertise to the Boston Consulting Group's existing capabilities. Today, our presence spans across the globe, with offices in Asia, Europe, and South and North America. Our New York-based North American team began in 2014 and in 2017 acquired MAYA Design, a Pittsburgh-based digital design and innovation lab, to grow our capabilities around technology and design.

We support our clients' total digital transformation through technology, design, cybersecurity, and risk management & financial engineering capabilities. And together with BCG, BCG Platinion's interdisciplinary team of technical experts enable customized technical solutions and accelerate delivery value through new business platforms, application consolidations, and major system implementations.

What You'll Do

As a seamlessly integrated part of the BCG network, we provide consulting services focused on the development and implementation of business-critical IT architecture and digital solutions. We create technology platforms and deliver exceptionally customized solutions of the future for our clients, from data strategies to next-generation customer journey solutions and transformational business models. We solve the most daunting challenges that companies face today and envision for tomorrow. As a Senior IT Architect, you will work alongside a bold, energetic and collaborative team. You will evaluate and coach our clients' technology teams, define technology strategies, architecture solutions and help us design the future. You will develop and grow by being exposed to new and complex challenges daily.

Together with our clients, you will develop superior digital and technology concepts and architecture solutions as well as support technical implementations actively and on site, applying your sound technical know-how, your understanding of business contexts, and your analytical and conceptual skills. 

As you acquire experience, you will be responsible for owning the delivery for a specific project "module" and help develop technical concepts for that "module".  You will be supported by an extensive training curriculum, plus technology-specific training and mentoring to help you build your technical skills.

Finally, as a Senior IT Architect you will contribute to the Financial Services Practice Area development and help to build the BCG brand as a key member of the case team. 

What You'll Bring

  • 4 to 10 years of IT Architecture experience in IT/technology consulting, financial institutions, financial services, or banking industry.
  • Hands-on experience with trading platforms and systems such as Calypso, Murex, OpenLink, Bloomberg, or similar.
  • Knowledge of trade and settlement processes across various asset classes, including equities, fixed income, derivates, FX, and commodities.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing enterprise-grade architectures.
  • Familiarity with microservices, containerized solutions like Kubernetes/Docker, and event-driven architecture and messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
  • Experience with cloud platforms and services, particularly in high-frequency trading and data processing. Experience in building scalable, resilient, and secure cloud-based solutions.
  • Ability to work under pressure and willingness to travel to client sites.
  • A University degree with above-average academic performance in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field.
  • For candidates based in the Netherlands: Fluent in English; Dutch is highly desirable.
  • For candidates based in Belgium: Fluent in English, with French or Flemish as an additional requirement.
