Position: Sr. Contract Manager - Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Industry

Salary: Up to 125.000€ per year

Location: The Randstad, Netherlands

Work Model: Full-Time, Hybrid, 40h

Join a major BioPharmaceutical CDMO in Amsterdam as a Sr. Contract Manager.

Here, you will lead high-stakes contract and service agreement negotiations with other pharmaceutical companies requiring manufacturing services and capacity. (Startups, Scale ups, and Big Pharma)

Role Responsibilities

Focusing mainly on complex, high-value service agreements with biotech and pharma clients, you'll collaborate with top legal, financial, and business development teams, playing a key role in shaping contract strategy and revenue growth.

This can include:

  • Leading contract negotiations for new and existing clients, including amendments and complex agreements;
  • Serving as the primary business contact during negotiations, balancing legal, operational, and financial objectives;
  • Developing negotiation strategies that drive long-term business success and mitigate risk;
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams (Legal, Finance, IP, Tax, Logistics, etc.) to structure optimal contract terms;
  • Maintain and enhance an internal contract negotiation playbook to streamline processes;
  • Provide contract expertise in escalations, steering committee meetings, and arbitration proceedings;

Qualifications & Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in contract negotiation, business development in biotech, pharma, or contract manufacturing;
  • Strong track record in negotiating and closing complex service agreements with biotech and pharma clients;
  • Exceptional business acumen and the ability to align contracts with revenue growth;
  • Deep understanding of contract manufacturing, regulatory frameworks, and CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing & Controls);
  • Expertise in risk management, compliance, and commercial strategy for service & supply contracts;
  • Experience working in an international matrix environment with multiple stakeholders;
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written); additional languages are a plus;
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills;
