Role SummaryBuild and Improve the Brain of a Robot That Changes AgricultureWe’re looking for a Junior/Medior Software Engineer eager to work across various robotics fields: perception, control, infrastructure, data, and field operations.You will help build and improve the software running TOR — an autonomous laser weeding robot operating on real farms.This is not “backend in a quiet office.” This is hands-on full-stack robotics software: On-robot code, embedded computing, real-time control, embedded systems, perception pipelines, field testing — the whole loop.You’ll work directly with senior engineers building a next-gen ag-robotics platform. Your code will run on machines driving in real fields, making actual decisions in harsh environments.What You’ll Be Doing (The Fun Stuff)Robot Software DevelopmentImplement features in Python/C++ that run directly on autonomous robots.Work on perception, computer vision, control, interfaces, and AI based decision making pipelinesCollaborate with our Machine Learning team to integrate new algorithms.Write clean, modular, well-tested code shaped for real-world reliability.Troubleshooting & DebuggingReproduce and debug bugs that appear only in the field — timing, sensors, networking, errors, etc.Analyze logs, metrics, and telemetry to diagnose issues.Support the rollout of software updates, configuration changes, and performance improvements.Validation & Field TestingParticipate in robot factory acceptance, field testing and final validation at customer site.Validate behavior after fixes, updates, or new features.Collect data, evaluate performance, and support quick iteration cycles.ToolingImprove our development pipeline, testing tools, and internal automation scripts.Work with ROS2, Linux, CI/CD tools, and simulation environments.Help design and implement tools and mechanisms for debugging robot behavior and vision systems.Collaboration Across TeamsCoordinate closely with internal robotics/AI/electrical/mechanical teams and with engineering teams from our external partners and suppliers.Translate field feedback into actionable software improvements.Be involved in full lifecycle development: design → implementation → testing → deployment.R&D ContributionsBeyond production software, you will contribute to ongoing and upcoming hands-on and fast-paced R&D efforts that shape the next generation of TOR, especially in:Computer Vision Hardware IntegrationEmbedded Robotics & Compute PlatformsPrototype Testing & ExplorationWho We’re Looking ForYou HaveEngineering Degree in Software or relevant, Masters is a plus1–4 years of experience in software engineering (Python and/or C++).Experience with Linux, terminals, debugging tools, and version control.Strong Interest in robotics, embedded systems, control, or perception.Ability to write clean, structured, reliable code.A methodical approach to debugging complex issues.Driving licence required, since some work will take place at customer sites.You AreCurious, proactive, and eager to learn from senior engineers.Comfortable working with hardware, sensors, and real robots.Systematic thinker who enjoys tracing tricky bugs end-to-end.Excited by ownership, responsibility, and tangible impact.Bonus PointsExperience with ROS2, embedded systems, or real-time systems.Understanding of networking (CAN, Ethernet), sensor drivers, or hardware integration.Experience with computer vision, robotics frameworks, or ML pipelines.Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, or testing tools.Comfortable being occasionally in the field during tests.Willingness to occasionally join field tests.Why Join Us: The Real TalkThis job is not the typical corporate path.
