We are looking for a Firmware Engineer to join our client's team in Eindhoven, Netherlands, working on factory automation and industrial networking solutions.

In this role, you will develop real-time embedded firmware for industrial control systems, edge devices, and high-speed communication networks that power modern smart factories. You will collaborate with hardware, software, and automation teams to create robust, efficient, and scalable industrial solutions that enable Industry 4.0 and IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things).

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.
  • Experience with RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, VxWorks) and real-time embedded programming.
  • Knowledge of industrial networking protocols (PROFINET, EtherCAT, Modbus, OPC UA, TSN).
  • Hands-on experience with microcontrollers (ARM Cortex-M, RISC-V, STM32) and industrial interface integration.
  • Understanding of real-time communication, deterministic networking, and time-sensitive networking (TSN).
  • Familiarity with edge computing and IIoT architectures.
  • Experience with debugging and troubleshooting industrial networking firmware.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AI/ML for predictive maintenance in industrial automation.
  • Familiarity with industrial cybersecurity and secure firmware development practices.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based industrial analytics (AWS IoT, Azure IoT, Siemens MindSphere).
  • Background in PLC programming and industrial control systems.
