Reach your full potential as a Legal Counsel

The Legal team functions at the heart of the globally operating and constantly growing B&S. In your position as a Legal Counsel, you will work with every department in the company. However, you will work together with our commercial department the most.

You will handle cases and questions relating to all kinds of (legal) areas. You will spend about 50% of your time on ICT law and privacy law (privacy, data protection and information security). Together with our experienced Privacy Legal Counsel, you will, among other things, deal with:

Website and webshop compliance Inventory and registration of data processing Drafting of processing agreements Execute Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA) Privacy by Design Monitoring of relevant developments and other privacy issues.

In the remaining 50%, you handle various cases in the field of contract law, company law, law of obligations, trademark law, customs law, international transport law and consumer law. You draft (English) contracts and assess (legal) documents and agreements. Naturally, you monitor internal processes and the correct observance of laws and regulations. Furthermore, you provide legal consultation hours and advise colleagues and management, solicited and unsolicited, on legal developments.

Currently, our Legal Team consists of 5 professionals: Legal Counsels, Legal Counsel Privacy and a Paralegal. You report directly to the Head of Legal, who in turn reports to the Executive Board. The corporate functions are located in Delfzijl and Dordrecht. Thus, you will work from one of these locations. You will regularly travel to the other locations within B&S, both within the Netherlands and internationally.

You want to make Legal tangible for the entire organization. This means translating laws and regulations to business matters within all layers of the organization, from the operational shop floor to the boardroom. Operating within these different layers makes you happy.

Your strength also lies in identifying and mitigating risks and advising on them. You like to initiate ideas on how processes can be made more efficient, for instance utilizing digital and technical developments, or in other ways. Good cooperation with all stakeholders involved is very important to you. Furthermore, you are a team player and enjoy the fact that no day and no case is the same.

You prefer to work accurately and organized, and you can easily switch between various activities. You are analytically skilled, solution-oriented, and know how to set goals and achieve them. With your entrepreneurial mindset, you work independently and take the initiative. A fast-paced working environment is your place to be. Besides a legal antenna, you enjoy working with privacy law and can translate it well into practice.

You:

Have completed law studies at a Dutch university (LL.M), with a specialisation in ICT and privacy law being a plus Have gained a few years of working experience in a commercial environment Possess one or more privacy certificates such as CIPP/E, CIPM and CIPT Have an affinity with IT aspects of data protection live within a maximum of an hour's drive away from Delfzijl or Dordrecht Are flexible to travel between different locations, both within and outside the Netherlands Have an excellent verbal and written command of the Dutch and English language
