POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Technical Consultant, your role will involve providing technical consultancy and executing projects related to B2B messaging. Your daily responsibilities will include configuring message flow, creating mappings, and engaging with customers. You will collaborate closely with other teams such as product development and customer service as a member of the EMEA Professional Services team, primarily operating from our Amersfoort office.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set up, maintain, and expand the EDI system for clients
  • Communicate with clients to analyze, design, and fulfill their requirements
  • Create mappings between different formats (EDI, XML, ASCII) using various tools
  • Configure necessary message flows between clients and their trading partners
  • Provide guidance and training to clients on B2B messaging possibilities
  • Aid in enhancing clients' EDI system
  • Specialize in at least one functional area
  • Act as a subject matter expert with technical knowledge, and support other teams including sales, customer service, and operations

SKILLS AND QUALITIES

  • Bachelor's degree (HBO or WO) in computer sciences or over 3 years of relevant experience in a technical setting
  • High level of quality in development and technical implementation
  • Knowledge of Prince 2 or other project management methodologies
  • Fluency in Dutch and English (written and verbal)
  • Flexibility and stress tolerance
  • Customer-focused mindset and willingness to visit clients occasionally
  • Strong communication, documentation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, work independently, and within a team
  • Service-oriented and solution-driven approach

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE

  • EDI (EDIFACT, ANSI X12, Tradacom), XML, and ASCII file integration
  • XSD, XPATH, XSLT
  • VAN, FTP, HTTP(s), AS2, Webservices
  • Knowledge of Scripting (PHP, Perl, Shell ...) is a plus

Experience in any of the following functional areas is advantageous:

  • Retail and Do It Yourself
  • Government
  • Ocean, Air, Road
  • Port Systems

LOCATION

While primarily remote or based in our Amersfoort office, you must be open to commuting to clients' sites and occasional international travel.
