Job Title: Calculator - Werktuigbouwkundige Installaties

Our client in Enschede is in need of a skilled calculator with experience in mechanical engineering installations. This client, a national total installer, has a clear mission, vision, and objectives. Recently, installation technology has become increasingly important in the construction process. Specializing in ICT, security, and installation technology, this organization has experienced significant growth in recent years. Due to this success and an influx of new projects, a need has arisen for a new Calculator.

Job Description:

In this role as a calculator, your main responsibility will be to ensure accurate cost estimation for mechanical engineering projects. This involves requesting, comparing, and implementing quotations. In addition to quotations, you will gather information from colleagues and subcontractors. Based on the provided data such as drawings and specifications, you will prepare a comprehensive calculation, which will be reviewed with project managers. Ultimately, these calculations will be converted into a total quotation. Throughout the process, you will monitor quality and strive for a balance between speed and efficiency.

  • Requesting prices and quotations from suppliers and subcontractors;
  • Gathering information from project managers, planners, and contract administrators;
  • Estimating and quoting based on specifications, drawings, and other data;
  • Prioritizing efficiency, speed, and quality;
  • Supporting project managers in communicating cost estimates to customers.

Your Profile:

For this position, it is crucial to have excellent financial acumen and a solid technical background to accurately estimate costs for technical projects. You should also demonstrate an interest in sustainable solutions and a willingness to continue learning. The key competencies include:

  • A completed technical installation education in mechanical engineering;
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a calculator or cost expert in the installation sector;
  • Detail-oriented with a numerical aptitude;
  • Passion for technology;
  • Effective team player.
